It’s just stretching…

So I haven’t been back to yoga since my last post – mainly because I have been struggling with blocked sinuses, sore throat etc. I decided to just suck it up and go the doctor yesterday and thought I’d share this little entertaining story with you…

It turns out that I have a respiratory infection and just need to take my drugs and take it easy for the next few days and I’ll be good to go again.This is how the conversation thereafter went:

Me: Am I still able to exercise or is that a no-no?

Doc: Well, what kind of exercise were you planning to do?

Me: Yoga, Ashtanga yoga

Doc: Oh yes of course, that is absolutely fine. A bit of light stretching will do no harm. You just need to stay away from anything that will raise your heart rate or make you sweat too much.
